Culture Spot 17: On This Day . . . December 16

On this day in 1773, in a major protest against British taxation without representation in Parliament. Colonists disguised as Mohawk Indians boarded a ship carrying crates of tea belonging the British East India Company and threw them into Boston Harbor. This event known as The Boston Tea Party was one of the most iconic events in American history and one of the major acts leading to the Revolutionary War.
