St. Andrew's Day in Scotland
Today in Scotland they are celebrating St. Andrew's Day! St. Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland and Scots the worldover celebrate this day by showing off their Scottishness with traditional foods, music (the bagpipes of course!), dances and of course, scotch whiskey! Besides being a bank holiday in Scotland, St. Andrew's Day is also an official Flag Day where The Saltire, the name for Scotland's flag, will fly on all Scottish government buildings. If there are two flagpoles, then the Union Jack will fly next to The Saltire. The cross of St. Andrew is figured on the Scottish flag.
