In this post, we're going to look at a few idiomatic expressions using the word 'cat.'
Are you the shy type of person? Does the cat get your tongue? If it does, it means that you cannot speak due to shyness. Or are you the curious type? If so, a bit of a warning: curiosity killed the cat!
If you frighten easily, we might call you a fraidy-cat or a scaredy-cat. But don't worry, if you are, I promise not to tell anyone. I can keep a secret; I won't let the cat out of the bag.
Sometimes during a long day of work if I have a moment, I like to take a cat nap so I can feel refreshed to continue working.
I'm sure school teachers also wish they had a moment to sleep a little bit too during the day, because sometimes they have to deal with students who jump around like a cat on a hot tin roof. It is also tiring if they have students who fight like cats and dogs. And if the teacher has to leave the classroom for a moment he worries because as the saying goes, 'When the cats away, the mice will play.' After a long day at school dealing with very active students they get home looking like something that the cat dragged in.
I've been trying to solve a problem at work but I'm not worrying about it too much because there is generally more than one solution. They say there is more than one way to skin a cat.
Well, that's all for the day since I have to find my umbrella before I go home. It's raining cats and dogs outside!
